Crickets and an Announcement
I only heard crickets
a little bit excited. After a week of migrating, organizing and re-organizing my website, everything was…quiet. Not a good quiet. A “where did everyone go?” quiet. I went through my usual cycle of frustration, despair and self-doubt about my ability to run a website when…
An email. It wasn’t a request for advertising space. It wasn’t a link to a discount handbag emporium. It was an invitation to attend Navigate Media’s Blog House Ireland. I applied a few weeks ago and wasn’t really hopeful. My traffic is modest, my twitter skills are tragic and my photography skills are, ummmm, developing (hehe). I’m also about 50 years older than the average blogger people. If I go, I’ll head back to Ireland and spend four days learning all kinds of cool bloggish things like media , PR, networking, photography and writing from some of the best in the business. It’s an opportunity to do this thing better. I’m feeling incredibly grateful.
Thanks to everyone for sticking with me, or ….if you’re new to the site, thanks for giving me a chance. I plan on doing whatever it takes to make A Passport Affair worth my effort and your time. I’m hopeful, aren’t you?
I’m off to accept my invitation before they change their mind.
